I’ve been blogging for a few years.  Blogging grew from written journals that have become lost to the events of life and despair.  I moved to on-line journals during a dark moment in my life to find a way to escape, to discuss, to breathe, to cry, and to heal. Black Folks Don’t Swim grew out that era.

Our purpose is to reach out and provide some answers that help you get through the day. We do not judge but help you alternatives on your job especially during these hard times. We want your life to be blessed, yes many people are blessed but how are they living? Can they say that God is the head of their life; if He’s not then this is the Blog for you because if you are being blessed now, think of how much more you will gain by trusting the One who has blessed you in the first place.

The Black Youth Project was a national research project launched in 2003 that examined the attitudes, resources, and culture of African American youth ages 15 to 25, exploring how these factors and others influence their decision-making, norms, and behavior in critical domains such as sex, health, and politics.

Whether it’s clothes, music, giving back, travel, quotes or random things that pop in my head, this site serves as a place for me to share and discuss all the things that inspire me in life. I share my thoughts, ideas, goals and anything that I think may be helpful for me and others.

I am ME. I’m multi-faceted and there are many quirks to my personality. I’m strong yet soft, determined yet scared, the life of the party but a bit shy. I pride myself on being a strong, independent, Christian woman but I’m still me. I love fiercely and it is my goal in life to help any and everybody I can.
